Destilla at BioFach

Finally time for exhibitions again! After a long wait, we attended BIOFACH in Nuremberg from 26-29 July 2022. We were able to celebrate our premiere as an exhibitor at the unique “Summer Edition”.

With over 24,000 visitors from 137 countries, the joy of meeting each other again after a two-and-a-half-year break was great. The interest in the new products and trends of the organic sector was also unbroken.

In addition to our organic portfolio, our guests could get to know and taste our exhibition applications at stand 441 in hall 7. In addition to an organic tea drink with black tea extract and watermelon flavour and a caffeinated organic soft drink with mate extract and guava-passion fruit flavour, we also had a vegan organic fruit drop with elderflower-hemp flavour on site. With these new products, we have translated the current trends of naturalness, sustainability, well-being and added value into applications.

Because at Destilla we are convinced that organic is more than just a label or a certification. For us, organic also stands for quality and a responsible approach to the resources of our nature.

Successful graduates

Education and training are central pillars of Destilla’s human resources policy. With these means, we create continuous improvement for ourselves and our customers. In times of shortage of skilled workers, we are positioning ourselves for the future and offer our colleagues a long-term perspective.

We are all the more pleased that once again three former apprentices have successfully completed their 3-year training and are now strengthening our team. Annelie Häfele will support our sales team from now on. Lina Biller and Peter Fuhrmann will work as distillers in our production areas and produce high-quality essences for our customers.

We are also proud of Patrick Beck and Markus Grau. Both have successfully completed their master courses. As a Bachelor Professional of Juice and Beverage Markus Grau can now respond even better to the needs of our customers from the beverage sector. Patrick Beck is now a Bachelor Professional of Food and is even better able to implement our customers’ specifications in our R[&]D work.

We congratulate our graduates and are very happy that all of them will continue to spend their professional future with Destilla.

Benches for Kleinerdlingen

After the extensive renovation of the Kleinerdlinger community centre, the new village centre invites visitors to linger. Only a few seats were missing after the successful renovation.

A local association and our company provided a remedy by donating benches. This way, the warm summer days can now be enjoyed outside at the new village centre.

As a local company, we were very pleased about the request from local spokesman Marcus Sienz. We appreciate the good cooperation very much and wish all Kleinerdlingers a lot of joy with the benches.

Running for a good cause

Our apprentices and their trainers took part in the Mossoró charity run of our partner school, the Realschule Maria Stern, in Nördlingen. The aim of the run is to cover as many kilometres as possible in one hour, which will then be donated to the sisters of the Maria Stern order in Augsburg.

The money will be used to support the work of the Franciscan Sisters in Mossoró, Brazil. There, the sisters take care of people from poor social classes as well as orphans, people with disabilities and, more recently, animals in need.

Our team was able to run over 100 kilometres this year and thus make a valuable contribution within the framework of the Mossoró charity run. Thank you for your commitment!

Sustainable bags for the food bank Nördlingen

Since 2020, the Nördlingen food bank CaDW has been using environmentally friendly and sustainable packaging to reduce the high consumption of plastic packaging. We were already able to finance 500 bags two years ago and donate them to the Caritas and Diakonie institution in our region.

After two years of the pandemic and the terrible war in Ukraine, more and more people are dependent on what the food bank has to offer. Accordingly, there is a great need for the reusable bags.

The initial stock has now gone to tilt and at the request of the CaDW we were happy to donate a second edition, which we were now able to hand over for the important work of the food bank. Susanne Vogl (1st from left) and Helmut Weiß (2nd from left) were very pleased to receive the 500 new organic cotton bags from Destilla Managing Director Matthias Thienel and Claudia Relovsky.
