Generational Transition at Destilla GmbH and Thienel Holding: Armin Thienel Steps Down from Operational Leadership
After more than three decades at the helm of Destilla GmbH and 15 years as managing partner of Thienel Holding GmbH & Co. KG, Armin Thienel will step down from operational management at the end of this month. This marks the beginning of a planned generational transition within the company.
“When I look back on this period, I feel above all a deep sense of gratitude,” says Armin Thienel. “The trust and collaboration over many years have had a lasting impact on me both personally and professionally. It has been a great honour to lead these two companies.”
Under his leadership, Destilla GmbH and Thienel Holding have developed successfully and steadily. A key milestone in this development is the current expansion of the Nördlingen site: Destilla is significantly increasing its production capacity, creating modern, energy-efficient distillation and extraction facilities across more than 25,000 square metres. With the relocation of the Kleinerdlingen site to Nördlingen and the expansion of state-of-the-art facilities, Destilla is strategically enhancing its capacities and strengthening the foundation for further growth.
Seamless transition to the next generation
Operational responsibility will pass entirely to the next generation: Matthias Thienel, who has already been active in the management team, will assume sole managing directorship of Destilla GmbH. He will be supported by an experienced leadership team. Thienel Holding GmbH & Co. KG will also be led by Matthias Thienel in future, together with his sister Katharina Hämmerle, who serves as authorised signatory. “I am convinced that, with this structure, Destilla and Thienel Holding are very well positioned for the future,” Thienel concludes.
