1,500 trees for the Nördlingen municipal forest

Baumpflanzaktion Destilla im Nördlinger Stiftungswald

As part of our 50th anniversary in 2019, we have decided to donate one euro per sent invoice for the planting of trees in our region in the future. In this way, we would like to make a small contribution and give something back to nature.

After we were able to plant 500 trees with the Bavarian State Forests at the beginning of 2020, the last tree plantings unfortunately had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. So it was all the nicer to finally be able to start again.

This time, the planting area was the municipal forest of the city of Nördlingen. We have collected nearly 7,500€ since the last tree donation and were thus able to plant a total of 1,500 trees.

1,300 Bornmuller firs and 200 Oriental beech trees were brought in as seedlings by our apprentice and the foresters and are expected to cope better with climate change than their native relatives, the silver fir and copper beech. Destilla managing director Armin Thienel and Nördlingen’s mayor David Wittner also took the opportunity to plant some of the trees.

We would like to thank the city of Nördlingen and the forestry office for the great cooperation and are already looking forward to the next tree planting campaign.
